Privacy Policy
BroadbandCensus.com is committed to providing the public with a detailed and accurate collection of information about broadband Internet availability. BroadbandCensus.com invites you to participate in this effort by providing information about your broadband Internet connection. BroadbandCensus.com respects your privacy.
Whenever you visit the BroadbandCensus.com Web site, we automatically collect information from you about the name of your Internet service provider, your Internet protocol address, the browser and type of computer you are using, the Web site from which you came, the pages that you requested and the date and time of those requests. Unless you provide your e-mail address, we do not collect that piece of personally identifiable information.
Personally Identifiable Information
At our "Take the Census" page, BroadbandCensus.com offers you the opportunity to provide information about your carrier, your ZIP code, and your ZIP+4 code, your promised broadband speeds (downstream and upstream), how you rate your service, and comments about the service. We also invite you to provide your e-mail address so that we may contact you when BroadbandCensus.com launches a speed test. If you provide your e-mail address, which we encourage you to do, that address may be used as a means to organize information about your carrier, your ZIP code, your ZIP+4 code, your promised or actual broadband speeds, and other information. We also invite you to opt-in to our e-mail list discussing broadband issues.
BroadbandCensus.com does not collect individuals' addresses out of deference to your privacy. However, we encourage you to use the U.S. Postal Service's ZIP+4 lookup service by typing in your address, obtaining your ZIP+4, and providing your ZIP+4 to BroadbandCensus.com.
