Broadband Census Taker says:

They throttle very heavily here. Downloads sometimes hit 1.2 MB/s for a minute or two and then drop down sharply. I rarely see more than 100 KBps sustained, and even that I don't get very often.

Broadband Census Taker says:

Mediocre at best, bandwidth hogs all over the place drag d/l's to nearly dial up speeds. Can't wait for U-Verse

I think it's an issue with my building but the connection is really poor. I get 1.5Mbps at most for TW Roadrunner's 6MBps service. Moving to West LA - we'll see how Verizon DSL is.

Time Warner DOESN'T CARE if SERVICE IS F-MINUS says:

Very inconsistent internet connection and upload / download speed and packet loss with Time Warner. I've had horrible service for 5 years, but Time Warner wants to blame my "laptop"! I travel all over the U.S. and sometimes offshore, but in each case my internet service and Sierra wireless internet service perform beautifully. Despite having no internet service for 3 days, Time Warner says "everything is fine" (!!?). However, I have over 5 years consistently upgraded my connection, service level, and modem with Time Warner. Lines from the street to the house have been replaced, albeit once with the incorrect type of cable. I am paying their highest possible internet service rate, but without a reliable connection or quality service.

Broadband Census Taker says:

Poor cable; fair internet broadband; good telephone. . . Customer service -- what customer service?. . . Wish I had a choice other than TWC or nothing. . .

Alicia W says:

The actual internet service has been reasonable. We've had no downtime that we know of. However, their customer service is not service at all. Out of the blue we got a notice that our rate was going up $5 per month, to $8 more than their advertised rate. I contacted customer service and was even prepared to cancel service and open a new account in order to get the lower rate, but apparently they have a 6-month wait before one can open a new account. NOT happy!
